Charlie Ferguson came through with a solid 9 innings as the Philadelphia
Quakers defeated the Providence Grays 1 to 0 at Recreation
Park.
 
Ferguson(7-2) escaped virtually unscathed against the Providence hitters.  He
was stingy on the mound, allowing just 4 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings
improving his ERA from 3.25 to 2.89.  Providence threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short.  
 
The loss was charged to Charlie Sweeney(4-4). Wth the win Philadelphia now has
a record of 10-7.  With the loss, Providence has a record of 6-4 lately, 10-6
overall.
