Charlie Ferguson made short work of the leaders today, mowing down the first place Providence nine by a score of 2-0.  The Grays were not on their game and Ferguson kept them off balance like a magician of the pitching box.  The opposition made only three safe hits, they were given no free passes, and did not commit any miscues in the field.  This resulted in one of the Quakers cleanest games of the season, and manager Wright was very pleased with the effort, saying, "This is what I expect from the boys every day.  I must say that was quite an effort by our Mr. Ferguson and also that Catcher Crowley kept Charlie's head in the contest  and they worked a wonder against the hard hitters from Providence."
